The iphone has been revolutionary for many reasons, it’s an extraordinary device which offers us the world at our fingertips. What has really impressed me is the latest iphone 4s 8 x megapixel camera has allowed your average joe with a good eye for composition to take near professional finish photos. Not only have apple improved upon the aperture, shutter speed, processing speed and added extra features like facial recognition and HDR, but the ability to edit and publish photos to social media using Photo Stream in iCloud has encouraged a whole new generation of amateur photographers.
Some of the best of these amateur shots have been recognised at the annual iphone Photography Awards. The iPhone Photography Awards (IPPAWARDS) is the first and the longest running iPhone photography competition since 2007. IPPAWARDS has been celebrating the creativity of the iPhone users since the first iPhone has inspired, excited and engaged the users worldwide. Since then every year, IPPAWARDS has selected the best shots among thousands of images submitted by iPhone photographers from more than 30+ countries around the world. Winners are selected by the jury members in several steps and The Photographer of the Year prize awarded. All winners are published online and will be part of The IPPAWARDS Interactive Annual series of books on iTunes.
